The school band is an ensemble of wind and percussion instrumentalists who are in the process of becoming musically educated. The relationship between the whole band and the individual students is important. The primary purpose of the school band is to provide its members with a music education in the highest possible degree. The goal of the school band is to gain a greater appreciation for music through the acquiring musical knowledge along with performance skills. Standard of Excellence books 1, 2 and 3 provides sequential, comprehensive study of music as it relates to the individual instrument. Short, individual playing tests are given 2 to 3 times every 9 weeks in order to gage the student’s progress. CCA Band is a seperate fee based class offered to our 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders at a cost of $50.00/month for one student, and $25/month for the second student.
