Standardized Testing

Academic excellence is a high priority at CCA. The school administers standardized achievement testing annually to evaluate its programs and guide educational decisions. Standardized testing aids teachers and administrators in improving instructional plans, keeps parents informed about children’s academic progress, and informs the community of the general progress being made by a school or school system.

CCA students in grades 1-8th also take the STAR reading assessment three times each year to monitor progress of language, foundational reading skills, and reading of informational text and literature. The test assesses skills in 46 areas in 11 domains.

The STAR Math assessment is also used to gauge the mathematical knowledge of students. Students will answer questions that deal with: numbers and operations, algebra, geometry and measurement, data analysis, statistics, and probability.

Teachers use test results to differentiate instruction designed to strengthen students overall reading ability.
