“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
Nineteen years ago, my husband and I enrolled our kindergartener at CCA. We were drawn in by the Christian mission and the well-rounded education and programming, but what pushed us to take the leap and invest in Christian education and CCA was the overwhelming love of Christ that was present throughout the faculty and community of families. It was a blessing to know that the same values we were working hard to instill in our three children were consistent with the place where they would be spending most of their waking hours and that they were deeply loved and cared for. Our experience here as parents, in partnership with our church, helped us build a firm foundation for our family. We are forever grateful for the support offered by this community.
This week is the start of my eighth year as an educator at CCA. After several years living out of state, we had an opportunity to return to Kansas, and we knew CCA was the place for us. This time, however, was different. Not only would our youngest two finish their middle school years as CCA lions, but I was given the opportunity to join the faculty. The same Christ-like love and community we knew as parents is what I experience daily as a member of the CCA team. It is a privilege to be a part of this great ministry.
The community and Christ-centered love at CCA does not happen by accident. It is the Holy Spirit working in each of us to care for one another through prayer, acts of kindness, and encouraging words. This year I challenge each of us to reach out to those around us and share the love of Christ. A Christ-centered community is what sets CCA apart, and an intentional choice to put on love above all is the basis for strong partnerships that propel us forward in achieving the mission of helping each student reach their full potential in Christ. We are so excited to continue this journey and grow in partnership with each family.
