CCA Daily Update 03/18/20

Dear CCA Families,

As we have been monitoring developments over the past several weeks, it became apparent that our traditional approach of education might need to be amended.  In preparation, our leadership team has been regularly meeting.  At the forefront of those discussions has been concern for the new challenges your families will face.  The survey that was sent yesterday will help us provide options that meet the needs of your family during this season of remote learning.  Thank you for taking time to respond quickly.  We received 382 responses within hours!  As we move through this process, and until we are in a new routine, I will provide you with a daily update of our progress.  Regular contact will also begin coming from your child’s teacher(s) soon.

In so many ways, God has prepared the leadership and faculty for this time.  Over the last 5-7 years, we have been blessed with technology advancements and professional learning opportunities that have positioned us well for a transition to continued learning off-site.  We are excited to expand our learning and are prepared to problem-solve to ensure the needs of each student are being addressed.

The Lord has laid on my heart a desire to share a personal story of encouragement with you this morning. For a period of time after moving to AZ, we enrolled our children in a program that involved both home and school learning.  At the time, we could not find a traditional-style Christian school with a culture comparable to the one we were so blessed by at CCA prior to our move.  I was nervous.  I was a nursing professional, and not a teacher.  The good news is God is faithful!  We have some wonderful memories of our time together during this period.  I learned a lot about my children’s learning styles and how to help them.  They strengthened their study skills, grew in self-discipline and independence, and improved their time-management.  My husband and I also had many opportunities to share and model our faith.  My prayer is that this story encourages you as you adjust to a continued learning model.

We believe God is going to bless and equip you during this time. Although we are going to miss the traditional classroom experience, we are excited to help you navigate this new adventure.

Be watching for additional updates as we roll out CCA’s continued learning plan.

May God richly bless your family,
