Junior high (grades 7-8) students are entering some of the most formative years of their life as they build on their foundation from Elementary School. Having faculty who know your student by name, understand their struggles, and are willing to go the extra mile is vital to your preteen’s success.
Junior high bridges childhood and young adulthood by providing opportunities for students to serve and be challenged academically. Students gain academic readiness and a heart for others as they prepare for high school.
Discipleship and service are central to the junior high experience at CCA. Students are placed in mentoring groups, grow in accountability, and engage in Bible class that includes the Peacemaker curriculum, designed to help students handle conflict in a God-honoring way. Outside the classroom, students serve in a refugee classroom, help facilitate another school’s field day, and participate in Operation Christmas Child.
Through CCA's intentional spiritual, academic, and extracurricular programs, spiritual formation, which is the ongoing process of being transformed into the character and likeness of Christ, occurs.

Junior High is a time when students truly begin to see the giftings that God has given them. Academics at the junior high level allows students to dive deeper into the core subjects of Bible, Math, English, History, and Science, while also having the opportunity to take a deeper dive into courses like art, strength and conditioning, choir, band, PE, drama, technology, and Intro to Geometry.
CCA’s philosophy in junior high is to encourage students to participate in a wide variety of academic and co-curricular activities. Students are challenged in rigorous core classes while also exploring their creativity through required choir participation. This well-rounded approach helps students discover new interests, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive in high school and beyond.
Students who take the advanced math track in junior high, have the opportunity to complete calculus before high school graduation. By focusing on true comprehension and understanding we prepare students for the rigor of high school academics.
Most classes meet four times per week – three days for 45 minutes and one extended 80-minute session. The longer class period provides time for hands-on learning such as labs and projects.
Service is an important part of the junior high experience giving students meaningful opportunities to put their faith into action. Through Service Week, students work alongside our maintenance staff to care for and prepare our campus. They also serve in our community by volunteering at Spaght Elementary’s Field Day and partnering weekly with Gammon Elementary’s Newcomers class, building relationships and helping students develop conversational English.
Through these experiences, students learn the value of hard work, discover the joy of serving others, and grow in their ability to represent Christ through compassion, humility, and action.
