ATHLETICS and Activities

Athletics are a valuable opportunity to build character and be courageous. Whether it is a challenging opponent or in a close game, CCA Lions discover what they’re made of and who God is shaping them to be.

The CCA way

At CCA, we believe that sports and activities are a great place to develop the whole personhood of our students. The five pillars of biblical integration that we believe teach our students how to be fully devoted followers of Christ, and create a winning culture are:

  • Discipline: Grow in resilience through the strengthening of fundamentals – doing the little things right over and over again
  • Health: Taking care of and honoring one’s own body through nutrition, rest, and strength
  • Competitiveness: Develop confidence, teamwork, and self-discipline through both team and individual athletics
  • Selflessness: Influence others through servant leadership, encouragement of teammates and setting a positive example
  • Humility: Learning to honor Christ and represent CCA with character on the field, court, track, and classroom

LEAGUE COMPETITION

Central Christian Academy is proud to be a member of the Heart of America (HOA) League, providing students with opportunities to compete, perform, and grow alongside other schools across Kansas. HOA activities include bowling, cross country, volleyball, cheer, basketball, track and field, fine arts, scholars bowl, and quiz bowl.

At the high school level, CCA competes as a 2A school and is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA), allowing our students to compete against member schools and participate in postseason opportunities. At the junior high level, CCA participates in the HOA and follows league guidelines. Through these opportunities, students develop teamwork, discipline, perseverance, leadership, and Christlike sportsmanship.

The CCA Booster Club is a parent-led volunteer organization that works with administration to encourage participation, increase communication, and promote support for athletic and activity programs at CCA.

Vision:  Competitive athletic teams and activities do much more than simply bring trophies back from competitions, meets, and tournaments. They build lasting relationships for students and parents, build positive community and school spirit, and teach student athletes incredible life lessons about humility, courage, sportsmanship, perseverance, and effort that cannot be learned any other way.

Goals: CCA promotes a high standards of safety, integrity, sportsmanship, and Christ-like attitudes in all sports and activities as we compete as a full member of KSHSAA and the Heart of America League.
