Kindergarten

Discover Kindergarten … a world of beginnings!

Bible

The heart matters. Our Positive Action Bible curriculum is not just a subject; it is the building of a foundation for a life-changing relationship with the Lord Jesus. We believe that the word of God can teach children how to live from their earliest childhood experiences. Character development is enhanced through daily Bible stories and memory verses. Once a week we have chapel with other classes.

Phonics and Spelling

Do you hear what I hear? Saxon Phonics and Spelling is a success-oriented program that enables our children to develop a solid foundation in phonics, and thus become successful readers and spellers. By using phonemic awareness and phonics instruction with multi-sensory activities, reading becomes exciting!

Language and Writing

Books are our friends!  Our Journeys Curriculum provides an instructional system for reading both literature and informational texts, enriching vocabulary and comprehension and developing mastery of speaking, listening, and writing.  Kindergarten writing begins to bloom as they are given opportunity to write daily through manipulating letters, interactive writings, and writer's workshop.

Mathematics

Growing up with numbers all around us, kindergartners become aware of how math affects all parts of life. Math concepts and problem-solving strategies are enhanced through the use of our Math in Focus Singapore curriculum, daily calendar, and math book activities.

Science

Full S.T.E.A.M. ahead!  Students will be engaged in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Science activities will combine the use of simple hands-on experiments, games and other projects to foster our children’s awe and wonder at the creation God has made for us.

Social Studies

We integrate social studies themes within the language arts curriculum to give students the opportunity to enjoy cross-curricular study.

Enrichment Classes

Get ready, set, let’s go! We are blessed to have art, STEAM, library, physical education, and music classes scheduled throughout the week. These classes are taught by specialists in their field and in settings specifically designed for those activities.

Share Days

Let the fun begin! Our kindergarten classes combine to do a variety of exciting hands on learning, developed around a specific theme. Apple & Pumpkin Day, 50's Day, 100th Day Spy Day, Thanksgiving Friendship Feast, and our Mother's Day Tea are shared events where families are invited to help share the experience. Field trips give an added dimension to our curriculum, and help us learn about our community.
