Legacy of Faith Update

Legacy of Faith Celebrates Past and Future of CCA

On Thursday, November 5, many in the CCA family gathered to enjoy an evening of worship, teaching, blessing, and vision. Because of COVID-19, the Legacy of Faith committee used over half of the 3,200 seats in the CCC worship center to spread out the 350 guests. Six longtime employees – Kathy Bowling, David Crow, Gaye Ruschen, Laura Sack, Ray Pew and Jody Wickham – were honored as retirees for their many decades of faithful and loving service to our students and families. Thank you to Betty Powell for her kind and gracious words that honored and blessed these fellow staff members. Aaron Pew, son of Ray and a CCA graduate, along with Cynthia Whiteside, CCA’s advancement assistant, performed the beautiful song “Only Jesus” by Casting Crowns.

Dr. Sean McDowell gave an incredible keynote address on how to reach and teach this current generation of students. He also emphasized the great need our country has for Christian schools and highlighted the fact that his children attend their local Christian school where he and his wife both teach as well. As the evening closed David Landis, Superintendent, challenged those in attendance to support CCA as God led and approximately $120,000 was raised in gifts and pledges for student financial aid, staff support, and for school building and renovation projects.

If you were unable to attend this wonderful event, please take the time to watch all or part online with the link below. By doing so, you will be encouraged and inspired to support our great school that has been educating children with a Christ-centered worldview for nearly 40 years.
