The Central Christian Academy Learning Resource Center (LRC) has over 19,000 circulating items and serves over 541 students/staff in kindergarten through eighth grade. LRC activities are closely tied to the classroom curriculum. Students in K-6 receive media instruction and have access to a variety of reference books. Many dedicated moms volunteer weekly to assist in the day-to-day duties of our busy library. Students, teachers, and parents have access to computers for searching items through the online catalog system.

Students come to the LRC on a weekly basis during a regular scheduled time, or independently during the school day at appropriate times determined by the classroom teacher. Taking care of all materials and returning items on time is emphasized to promote personal responsibility. The LRC is open during the entire school day from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for book checkout and research. CCA does not charge fines for late books; however, books that are damaged or lost must be paid in full.

Behind every strong writer is a dedicated reader. Behind every dedicated reader is a commendable thinker. The primary focus of the LRC is to develop mature readers who carefully examine all literature with the Bible firmly in hand. A biblical worldview thinker is able to analyze, synthesize, criticize, and conceptualize by measuring all material in the light of Scripture. One important goal is for each student to be salt and light, thereby making a profound impact on the world for Christ.

Many students also take advantage of our Accelerated Reader Program (AR) where they earn points according to their results on comprehensive quizzes. Awards have even been handed out to our top AR point-earners.
